Love the ideas for the “DIY PVC Chicken Gravity Feeder and Waterer”, however, it appears that the instructions for the waterer are incomplete on p. 101 and a new article begins on p. 102. Did I miss something? Reply Mandy on June 10, 2013 at 1:00 pm Have you received any response yet? I noticed this too, and haven’t yet received a reply to my email. I can’t wait to make these! Reply Lisa Marie Lindenschmidt on June 3, 2013 at 4:07 am This magazine is so beautiful and inspiring! Thank you so much for all the hard work that goes into it! VERY much appreciated from folks here in Maine! Reply Karen Lawson on June 5, 2013 at 2:04 pm I love your magazine and have been reading ‘cover to cover’!I am, however having a very frustrating time navigating through the pages with my iPad. I am rarely able to finish the whole issue in one sitting and even though I leave the Safari page open, after a bit, your magazine returns to the front cover! I have to flip through the pages by swiping a finger across the screen. After about four or five swipes, it stops turning pages for about 30 seconds, per page. It is very frustrating to have to wait patiently to get to the second half of the issue! Is there some way to jump to any given page?It would be so much easier to open the issue in Adobe Reader! Then I could access the issue even when out of range of WiFi.Thanks or the great publication. I am hoping your great readers might have a suggestion for my troubles!~~Karen in Birch Bay Reply Melissa on June 5, 2013 at 10:07 pm Hi Karen,You CAN download the magazine as a PDF to open in Adobe Reader. All you need to do is click on the arrow at the top of the publication and a PDF of the magazine will download. If you have any other troubles just email us at [email protected] Reply Barbara J. We’re looking into ways to make that happen in the upcoming year. If you subscribe, we’ll release the details of when/how that’s going to happen when the time comes via email. Thanks! Reply Mary and Jesse on November 6, 2013 at 2:04 pm we have a very small farm and just starting out we would love to know what is the best beef calf to buy??? to start with we will be stocking the freeze as well as selling them…. Reply Melissa on November 8, 2013 at 12:00 pm We currently don’t have cows at our homestead laboratory, so we don’t know much about them. We’re scheduling a blog post on cows soon and we’ll be running more in next year’s “Livestock” issue. If you subscribe, you’ll get an email on all our blog posts, including the post about beef and milk cows. I’ll be doing the research in the next week or so, and while I’m doing that, I’ll respond to this comment with some links that might be useful. Reply Melissa on November 8, 2013 at 11:12 pm Hi. I just remembered we ran an article earlier in the year about raising cattle on small acreage, specifically beef cattle. Here’s the link: http://www.fromscratchmag.com/raise-cattle-small-acreage/ Hopefully it will give you at least enough information to get started. Thanks! Reply Renee on December 11, 2013 at 10:09 pm I am so hooked! i love this publication! I have read every issue over and over. Thank you for all of your hard work and research and sharing it with the rest of us. Reply tammy on October 25, 2014 at 1:01 pm I found your From Scratch magazine on Pinterest (which I love that site). I really like your magazine, very informative. I live in a small city of Michigan. I have been trying to go all natural as I possibly can. I really hate what all these big Corporations are doing to are food and water supply. Next spring I am hoping to make a chicken coop and get 2 hens, which I know nothing about except for what I read. Our city ordinance allows 2 hens. So please keep your magazines coming. Reply ginny weir on March 5, 2016 at 4:59 pm Found you on Pinterest and subscribed! Can’t wait to read it. Thought you and your readers might be interested in my vintage feed sack wares.
